Today I went to Kota belud once again following the church's OUTREACH TRIP to visit the poor...
Today's first stop was at Purak Ogis and the second is at Melangkap...The day started with a bad experience... because my hand accidentally hit hard on the door knob when I went out of my house early in the morning...
damn it hurts that time!!(Ouch!!)
Anyway... I went to church then... to meet up with Uncle Michael Shim...
cause all three of us (dad, mum and me) will be following his double cab up to Kota Belud...
After fetching Father Felix Chung in Cammarlite...
We went straight to Tuaran and had our breakfast there... Tuaran mee... lol~~(orang bilang laa mentang-mentang di Tuaran) haha~~
We quickly continue our journey to Kota Belud after finishing our breakfast since Aunty Linda called and asked where was our position for the N-times.... XD
We finally reach Purak at about 10.35a.m....
OMG~! Land slide~! Luckily the little chapel was still standing firmly at where it was...
Heavy rain few days back had cause a lil land slide....
and all the big stones and dirt came rushing down towards the chapel... since the chapel is situated a lil down hill...
the chapel was dirty but they sweep the mud just to welcome us....
it was warm... we had to carry everything down to the chapel because our cars couldn enter the compound of the chapel... (good for exercise larr) haha~
We unloaded bags and bags of plastics containing food and clothes...
Father Felix said a simple short prayer with the villagers, gave blessings....
Then we start distributing all the foods and clothes...
After spending some time there taking some photos.... we packed up and head to the next stop...
Road to Melangkap was bumpy....
It was a long winding old road.... pebbles and dirt.... little land slide to along the road...
and we had to drive up and down the hills...
No network coverage at all!! I cant even send a simple SMS to my friends... durh~~
I don't think I can survive with life like this... OMG~~ I am a total city kinda person...
Bumpy journey ends with a pleasant nice view of a river~
It was the most beautiful river I had seen so far!!
With the river near in front of my sight, I knew we were about to reach the second chapel...
Minutes after that... we reach the second muddy chapel...
I finally realised that I was so lucky to be borned in the city...
un-need to walk in muddy places barefooted... (kampung hulu-hulu baa tu)
We started to unload all the plastic bags....
damn there were so many of it... I guess we unloaded too few in the first destination... @.@||
There were so many children and senior citizens here.... (Err~wondering where were all the adults yah)
They started to collect clothes and even plastic utensils after we opened all the plastic bags...
It was liked cheap bargain for them... (jualan murah murah, satu ringgit saja!!)
Well... except that we were giving them for free.... lol
I felt happy too watching them looking for "new" clothes... (terasa baa orang bilang)
their smiles on the faces, it's the same feeling u had when u bought your new clothes....
the only difference is "first hand" and "second hand"...
After the distribution of clothes and foods... Everyone thought that it was the end....
time to head back soon...
But hold on just right there! there were more at the back... the children were so ready for it...
seems like they knew what was going to happen soon....
it's toys distribution time! that was the real climax!!
once the big box was opened.... all of them rushed and dashed for it...
even when the toys were not fully unloaded from the box....
OMG~~I stunned for a while and I went speechless....
Children in town buy new toys every single day and they threw it away like it's a rubbish...
("New ones won't come if the old ones doesn't go" once said a chinese proverb)
I felt sorry for the children here...
They were so happy and thrilled even when they only got a small piece of broken toy....
I bet they never had any toys before...
They grabbed anything they can... even if they had falled and kicked by other kids...
I suddenly wished I can buy a toy for each and everyone of them....
It was half past noon.... and the villagers offer us lunch...
we took the offer and climbed up a bamboo pondok....
our lunch was only white rice, pork skin cooked with potato and a local food called Tuhau... (lolz~ what the damn I dunno how to spell it) haha~XD
@.@|| They don even have pork meat, just pork skin!
how do they eat all this while? survive on tuhau all day?!
Noooooo~~I cant....I cant possibly live like this....
Well~~I do eat a little of their food....it's lunch man!!
eat or u will be starved! lol~~
poor thing...I wished I'm a ginie and I will bring KFC here for them then...XD
Life is so hard out here...no shoes, no good food, no toys, second hand shirts, no transport, no communication...
and it makes me wonder do they even go to school...
since it's a long road even to the nearest school around...
people should be grateful and thankful for everything in the city...try to think about the poor people and how life was so hard....
no more wasting food and please use your money wisely man~~
there are so many people out there who were in need of it...more than us...
without all of that...yet they still can live so happily with what they have....not even a complain...
then let me ask you....what are we then??
Following the OUTREACH TRIP had change my thoughts and the way I looked at things....
Finally it's to time to leave... thanks for the experience!
it definitely opened my eyes~~
YEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS~!~!~! Back to the river we past just now!
oh so damn she is pretty~!~! oh yeah beybeh~~
words can't express it!!
(apa lagi?!) It's picture time!!! like usual larr~~ it's what I like to do.... kekeke~~
I so wanna put my legs in the water... but too bad I am wearing shoes and i don't have any extra slippers around.... sobs~~
the water was cold and clean! I think it came from the mountain somewhere~~
lol!! I love the sight I love the river and everything about it!!
Well... I am the water type horoscope what.... (Oh come on~ don't gimme that kinda weird look!)
It's back to the car after stopping by the river...
sobs~~ I will sure miss miss you deary river....
don't even know when I will come back here once again...
We stopped at Tamparuli to had fried mee...
since Father Felix hadn't ate much just now.... lol~~
It had been a long tiring day.... but it felt warmed inside the heart...
I guess I will be joining trips like this often... haha~~ enjoyed it maa....
Life is never much relaxed when you watched back those pictures taken in slide show mode....
Ahhhh~~~ and having chilled shandy while enjoying the slide....
The day ended and It's time for me to go to bed... see yaa all soon~!
