"Don't look for food that does not last, Look for food that endures eternally"

Have been feeling so seriously down and for the first time in years I was unable to pull myself up and away from the blues for months now. I wasn't even sure if I have been stuck in a depression attack or not.

Unintentionally missed two weeks of Sabbath and I was losing all of myself uncontrollably. Not to mention that my spiritual thought seems to be in an extremely weak mode, contributing a lot of very odd negative temper and behaviour lately.

It was an awesome Sunday morning, and I was forever thankful that I was given another healthy day to wake up to and attended mass in St. Simon Church Likas.

Being in the church always made me feel like my second home. The friendly and welcoming wardens who made way for me and my mum, even people inside the church offered comfortable seats for the both of us despite that we were late. It warmed my heart throughly, I haven't felt so pleasant for months.

Looking at Rev. Father Cosmas on the stage, I recalled where he baptized me in Sacred Heart Cathedral 19 years ago. Time flies and I certainly have not been paying attention to the people around me especially my parents. They have aged a lot :(

The priest said "Look around you, can you find anyone the same like you? Always remember that you are very unique, the one and only on this world. God created you and you must appreciate just the way you are. No one can take what you have away from you." His words instantly struck me as I was losing all of my confidence and self-esteem lately.

He also mentioned "Don't look for food that does not last, Look for food that endures eternally." Again, those words calm me and renew my faith in God. Thus, giving my spiritual thought a lift and boost.

WORD FOR THIS SUNDAY :
Instead as God's people, we are asked to use the gifts and spirits given to us, to live a life worthily, to give oneself completely by helping one another, and living the life in righteousness, God is also asking his people to be like children, seated down, resting in complete obedience, waiting for God's mercy and love. When things do not go our way we always blame God. On the other hand, as human we tend to claim glory for everything we have in our lives, not God's will or God's providence. We are asked to be humble, never claiming glory for things that we have done but surrendering everything to God.

In our journey of life, we are faced with a lot of trials, temptations and challenges. Many untoward things happen everyday. God allows things to happen to test his people. God knows everyone's weaknesses and strengths. As people of God we are one body, one spirit in Christ Jesus. Whatever we do and wherever we are, we are asked to pick up all pieces that come our way, helping each other, pulling each other up when one is falling, be gentle and patience with one another so that no one is lost. We know that this is not an easy thing to do as mere human being, but with God's graces and guide we somehow would be able to overcome obstacles that come our way. He knows how and when to intervene if we live in complete trust to Him.

Amen :)
