[15.10.2015 ~ 05.11.2015] McDonald's Limited Edition Nano Blocks

McDonald.
I salute you.
For making me.....No, I mean the people of whole Malaysia.
To drown in this fever of Nano Blocks.

Just like their usual marketing plan,
Mcd is releasing a series of limited edition Nano Blocks, 2 pcs per week for a consecutive of 4 weeks.

You can grab any of the Nano Blocks at a price of RM6.00 with any purchase of Mcd foodie.

The thing is, no one announced the advertisement of Nano Block, not until the evening of the first day of the promotion which is on 15/10/2015.
My news and information was given by Irean when she send the following snap shot to our group chat :

Our eyes instantly opened wide and I no longer can concentrate in my work. LOL.
We were curious and anxious whether this promotion was being carry out in East Malaysia, because there was zero advertisement and no one among my friend list had posted anything about this.

Irean's colleagues immediately decided to head to Mcd restaurant to check things out and at the same time to take their lunches.
And all thanks to them, the Nano Blocks are REALLLL!!!

With Oily being a fan of Nano Blocks, I need to get my hands on a set of this series for him.
So, on that night, after work and after my dinner, I drove out to the nearest Mcd in Kingfisher to grab the first set.

Nano Blocks posters are up on the glass panels of Kingfisher's Mcd restaurant.
Inside, I met another two chinese guys who were asking for the Nano Blocks.
Apart from them, the rest are malay customers who I think were out to have their dinners here.
I guess.....not much of the people were aware of this ongoing promotion.

I had purposely brought my mum together with me tonight because I intended to just get 2 sundae cones and add on with the RM6.00 to get the Nano Blocks.
Since I am not a fan of fast food, and the fact that I am in a super budget mode, I didn't plan to waste extra money on expensive unhealthy food.
Too bad that their ice cream machine has broke down. Geez.
I was left with no other choices but to get the second cheapest food on the menu,
"2 Apple Pie please" :)

Jjang! I felt relieved when there were no one fighting the Nano Blocks with me. Hahaha!
I've heard many ridiculous stories about how people queue and fight for the previous Minions / Hello Kitty series in Mcd.
I was just super glad that my encounter tonight wasn't even near to any of those crazy experiences.

The second week was smooth as well, as the set was bought by my mum when she coincidently went down to town to pay for the electric bills.
And she got pretty lucky when the customer in front of her allowed her to just top up from their set meal :)
Thank you dear lovely good citizens! You shall be blessed with good karma *tring* Hahaha!
In the end, my mum only need to pay RM12.00 for this two Nano Blocks without spending any money on the food.
Thanks Mum! :)

The third week set was also bought by my mum as I was in the midst of a busy working day.
And surprisingly the Nano Block craze has become insane this week, where people have been queuing up since midnight just to get them in a big bulk.
Just so that they can resell it back to other people online in super expensive prices.
What a magnificent way to earn money, but it was actually unfair and bad to the other people who are unable to purchase their Nano sets on time.

What if you were in the midst of outstation? What if you were having a week of examinations and had no time to head to the shop? What if you were in the middle of unconveniences?
Wouldn't it be unfair if you already have to surrender with a white flag before you were even given the chance to enter the battlefield?
I wasn't here to put a judgement on others, it's just that I don't like the idea where unfair stuffs are taking place uncontrollably mainly because of human greediness.

And before I realized, the final week for the last Nano collection has arrived.
Fearing that I could risk myself from missing out the last piece of collection due to the overly-high demand,
This will be the first time in my life for joining the midnight craze where people sacrificed their sleeping hours just to queue at McD counters.
After hours of considerations and hesitations, I changed my mind at the very last minute and decided to go with my sixth senses.
I decided to pick McD Kingfisher as my war venue.

I was still in a blurry and sleepy mode when my phone start beeping with non-stop incoming messages.
I took a short nap right after my dinner tonight from 8-10pm.
Or else, I probably won't survive with my closed-eyes-driving-skills tonight. HAHAHA.

Anyway, I only went out from my house at 11pm since Kingfisher is just 15-20 minutes away from my house.
It was beyond expectation, although the outlet was crowded with people,
But everyone seems to be in their most relaxing mode either sitting, chit chatting, studying and even COC. Calming indeed. Hahaha.
And from what I saw, most of the people here are students from University Malaysia Sabah.

Earlier on, I was a bit worried and nervous while on my way here,
Since my friends are updating me from various branches of McD, where they were already in the middle of queuing and condition is just plain insane.

This was taken by Eddy from Api-Api branch at 11.10pm.
Luckily he was already there since 10pm, when I am still rolling on my bed. LOL

This was taken by Irean from Terminal 1 Airport branch at 11.40pm.
Check out the madness everywhere.

When the clock strikes 11.50pm.
People around me started to queue up in front of the counter.
I too... join in but I wasn't fast enough to be among the first five in the queue line.

No visible queue line anyway, looked more like a student assembly. LOL.
I am just super thankful that the crowd at my place are polite and understanding.
At least, no pushing and shouting or jumping queue stuffs.

But when the clock strikes 12am and the counters are finally opened,
The queue line at my place has reached all the way til the petrol station.

And cars have queue up as well from outside the main road.
The take-away lane was empty when I reached 30 minutes ago. HAHAHA.

I waited patiently for my turn, gotta admit I was super sleepy standing there.
Cus it's already an hour after my sleeping time.
The good thing was that my friends were constantly chatting and reporting their news feed like BBC and CNN with me for the past hour, I don't feel alone at all in this war. HAHAHA.
Then, I noticed the ''Sold Out'' items on screen.
Still feel the madness everywhere.

After queuing for 25 minutes, I finally got mine :)
Feeling relieved more than ever, I finally finished collecting the whole set for Mr Oily :)
Although still kinda disappointed that it wasn't an original Nano Block, where you can dissemble and reassemble it.
But, this weekly collection experience is worth the while for a funny reminiscence and story telling in the future.
