I asked a friend who has crossed 70 and is heading towards 80 years old, what sort of changes he is feeling in himself? He sent me the following :

1) After loving my parents, my siblings, my spouse, my children and my friends, I have now started loving myself.

2)  I have realized that I am not an "Atlas". The world does not rest on my shoulders.

3) I have stopped bargaining with vegetable and and fruit vendors. A few pennies more is not going to break me, but it might help the poor fellow to save up more for his daughter's school fees.

4) I leave my waitress a big tip. The extra money might bring a smile to her face. She is toiling much harder for a living than I am.

5) I stopped telling the elderly that they've already narrated that story many times. The story makes them walk down the memory lane and relive their past.

6) I have learned not to correct people even when I know they are wrong. The onus of making everyone perfect is not on me. Peach is more precious than perfection.

7) I give compliments freely and generously. Compliments are a mood enhancer not only for the recipient, but also for me. And a small tip for the recipient of a compliment, never, NEVER turn it down, just say "Thank You".

8) I have learned not to bother about a crease or a spot on my shirt. Personality speaks louder than appearances.

9) I walk away from people who don't value me. They might not know my worth, but I do.

10) I remain cool when someone plays dirty to outrun me in the rat race. I am not a rat and neither am I in any race.

11) I am learning not to be embarrassed by my emotions. It's my emotions that make me human.

12) I have learned that it's better to drop the ego than to break a relationship. My ego will keep me aloof, whereas with relationships, I will never be alone.

13) I have learned to live each day as if it's the last. After all, it might be the last.

14) I am doing what makes me happy. I am responsible for my happiness, and I owe it to myself. Happiness is a choice. You can be happy at any time, just choose to be!

I decided to share this to all my friends. Why do we have to wait to be 60 or 70 and 80 years old to do this, why can't we practice this at any stage and age?

Comment : Definitely a recommended K-Drama for romance comedy lovers. Story adaptation from the original English movie of Zac Efron though, but overall good acting from casts. I love how everyone portrayed their characters so on point and well. Lots of life lessons on relationships and perspectives, starts off as a fun and lighter drama but becomes much more meaningful, warm and touching in the end.

Comment : I have decided to give this drama a try after watching its random trailer that pops up on my Youtube recommendation. Surprisingly, it is very very good. No doubt that the castings and actings are incredible, but the storyline itself is also very entertaining and hype. I first expected it to be 80% romance based, but it actually contains more crime and suspense. Season 1 is just perfect, I finished the whole season in 2 days. While I felt that Season 2 was a bit too long, with all the twisted and draggy crimes' mysteries. I was constantly complaining why Alicia and Julio's relationship hasn't came into public exposure yet even after 25 episodes, and then there comes the weird hotel bombing in the ending of Season 2, which ultimately brings you to another new mystery to solve in the first episode of Season 3. Overall, I still feel that the final season is somewhat lacking as the ending and closing of the whole series. Due to alot of left-out openings that requires more explanation and execution.

Comment : Extremely shocking than that of Season 2. First of all, three of the Team Leaders have a history of a strict K-pop Boy Band training background, no doubt talented and demanding in dance themselves. Secondly, the dance stage has become a huge one compared to the previous seasons, with very exciting themes, my favorite is definitely none other than the Water Stage, which was an impersonation of the Step Up 2 final scene. This season caters more International Dancers and the Director has made the show a much more Competitive and Stressful stage. More creative and innovative dancers cum choreographer showed up as well, the Show Finale was huge and shocking as it was held inside a Stadium, almost like an Olympic closing ceremony event, it was even broadcasted LIVE in more than 5 different countries for the first time in its history. The Finale was 8 hours long, because there was no editing at all. Too much of talking and intervals after every round I would say, but the Dance Parts are all Worth the Watch.

Three months after settling down at my hometown,

and yet the feeling of lost and empty is still strongly lingering around.

I first thought that it might be caused by the limited source of employment choices in my homwtown,

But then I slowly realize, thinking that it might be the after effect of an job burnout.

''Burnout'' is a reaction to prolonged or chronic job stress and is characterized by three main dimentions : Exhaustion. Cynicism, and Feelings of reduced professional ability.

The stress that contributes to burnout comes mainly from the job,

But personality traits and thought patterns, such as perfectionism and pessimism,

can contribute as well.

Most people spend the majority of their waking hours working.

During the last job that I had in KL, 

It has reach a certain point in my life that I hated it, dread going to work,

and not getting any satisfaction out of anything that I am doing in life anymore.

With the demanding and higher stress level in today's society life, 

Burnout has become common in the majority cases from 7 out of 10 persons.

World Health Organization once stated from their studies and reports that,

"The reason a lot of us don't notice that we're burning out is because we're doing what we are supposed to do. We have learned from society that we are givers. It's important to understand burnout is more likely to be a failure of recovery than resilience."

Working in a toxic and demanding and fast-paced environment is already a challenge itself,

My stress management skills are so weak, that I am constantly neglecting the warning beeping sound 

of my self-care department everyday.

I have fail in prioritizing the work-life balance after hustling and working hard for 10 years straight.

Not even doing my favorite thing like dancing can help to ease me anymore.

That is when I know my mental health has already hit bottom rock,

and depression has started kicking in.

I have lost the purpose of living a great meaningful life, 

and only indulge in what money can buy to cure for my temporary happiness,

Such as expensive skincare products and meals.

After few rounds of considerations and advises from friends,

Finally, I have decided to leave the job, and move back to hometown.

Not having the urge to start working back in any of the offices at all, 

It has come for the time of self-care practicing and mental recovery stage.

Nowadays, I spend most of the time meeting up and engaging with old friends,

Joining social activities and outdoor exercising such as jogging and badminton.

Learning new skills and stuffs like doing sales and designs,

I get to take more hours of rest and sleeps, 

Most importantly I get to cut off all the connections with the toxic environment and people.

After months of self-care days,

I have develop the love of less going out for unnecessary hangouts and try to do more readings daily.

I have restart the journey and habit of journaling and blogging, which I have abandoned for years.

Also, putting attention and learning to be always present in the moment.

With practice, you can learn to live a more mindful life

that allows you to become more conscious of everything you are doing.

When you have taken steps to care for the mind and body,

You'll be better equipped to live your best life.

Comment : I love love Kim Soo Hyun, and Seo Ye Ji just became one of my favourite after this drama. The chemistry of the three main actors & actress are so good I really enjoy watching it from the first episode until the last, their acting is really at their top notch. The storyline is quite unusually fresh this time, you will have to immerse yourself fully into it to understand that healing process. All the OSTs are really amazing and I love them all. Definitely is a must watch drama if you would like to take a break from all the fancy Oppa's kind of drama.

It is in human nature to defend against pain.

Once we have experienced a physically or emotionally painful situation,

We all bring all our attention to defend against it happening again.

If disconnecting with others to avoid getting hurt is "fleeing",

Then numbing out our emotions altogether is "freezing".

Although this protective shield can seems useful and started off as a way of protecting,

But it can eventually morph you into hiding from yourself or denying your needs altogether.

Comment : I am only here to watch Wang Yibo. Storyline and plot are quite plain with no climax. Abit boring at certain episodes too, even the romance is nothing. I only enjoy the part where they emphasizes on the athletic + motivating spirit and the desire to push yourself to the limit + never afraid to keep trying after failure in everything you do. Anyway, this drama is light and fluffy, not too chessy and cringy kind, so overall its very enjoyable, it shows us the importance of friendship and teamwork and how it contributes to success when you are with the right people.

Comment : The kids are adorable and acting pretty good, the plot is easy predicted and cheesy but still cute and funny most of the time. The lead actress is gorgeous while doing a great job performing a rather complex and unlikable character. I like the part where they show how cruel the reality is to be on a professional dance stage, and also how everyone never see and understand much about the hard work, time and effort where a dancer had spent below the stage. Either a week or a month worth of endless dance practices just for the sake of that perfect 5 minutes on stage performance.

Comment : I have never been a fan of Lee Min Ho, but I must say he out-shined in this one. A LOT. It's totally my type of drama to start with, so yeah there goes the full marks. I have always love script writer Kim Eun Sook's works, and it never fail to mesmerize me again this time. All the OST's are very very good!!! The time travels and switching between worlds were a bit confusing at times, because you wouldn't realized which world you are in until someone's name are being mentioned.

Comment : The main actress is super pretty and hot. Her top notch acting skill is perfect and bring out the character so well. What was interesting that she was not actually downright evil or anything, although obviously not a good person either. Her biggest fault was her greediness. She was not able to appreciate what she had and demanded for more. The moral of the story is that we should not be greedy, always value yourself and the people who love you. Ending too draggy and I have expected the bitter and tragic ending, but overall worth the watch!

Comment : Superpower drama is probably not my thing, and cute is not my cup of channel. I only enjoy watching episode 10-14. The rest is just plain cuteness and gag, it started off strong but the story was abit not logical and immature in the mid. The casts are superbly adorable and cheesy together, but I super love Min Min. I just somehow feel that the evil villain is too horrifying and doesn't fit to be in a romance comedy.

There were a lot of emotional moments but dang the ending is so shocking and sad, speaking about how karma is going to hit you hard in life - totally. The mistress and the husband who actually deceived a simple and kind woman did not get hurt at all, instead the innocent ones had to face horrible consequences and were hurt the most in the process. WARNING : DO NOT WATCH THE DRAMA IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR HAPPILY-EVER-AFTER STORY.

Comment : This is a mature psychological drama that can be difficult to watch at times. The drama deals heavily with the issue of marital affairs and how they affect people's lives. Men will not enjoy watching this drama because almost every single guy in this drama is beyond pathetic. The cheating husband is portrayed in the worst possible way. The storyline is quite unpredictable, however I only find it interesting in the first 6 episodes, after that it's a bit draggy but overall the whole drama is quite realistic it is worth to give it a try. I must admit that they have the prettiest and most perfect mistress ever. LOL.

Comment : I would say they did a good job casting Lady Gaga for the lead actress, she pulls off the character, her acting was superb and make it a blast. It's a heartfelt movie that redefines love in this time and age we live in. I love all the songs, the soundtracks are so magnificent, touching and meaningful. There are parts the storyline is a bit draggy, but seriously I did not expect that ending though, it was a bit shocking and heart-aching so deep. Got me crying hard in the end!

Each character is with an extreme contrast of their own background, you wouldn't want to risk going to the washroom in the middle at all because the development of the story happens so fast, missing that one minute would leave you figuring why and how. Overall, it is quite an entertaining movie with appropriate amount of action scenes to enjoy.

No character development and the storyline was just plain flat, showing about 4 adults with various emotional and psychological problems living together. The only thing I like is the guy looks kinda cute and the drama is short with just 25 minutes of airing time per episode.

Comment : It's been a while since I last watched Taiwan drama. This was introduced by Cindy and I love the storyline very much. Short and straight-forward. Reflecting about toxic and one-sided relationship in the current society. Minus the drama-coincidence-scenario-effect, most of time they are quite on point realistically and has a good depiction of murphy's law. Everything possible started to go wrong because of one intervening party's opinion. The story was well written and the acting were excellent.

Comment : The main reason I watch this movie is because I have watched how JLO prepped up and trained to Pole Dance for 2 months prior to this movie filming. Her pole dance shot in the movie was probably just a mere 5-10 minutes but it's damn fabulous. And I was quite surprise to see the girl who acted in 'Crazy Rich Asian', Constance Wu to be starring in this one as well. Overall, I find the movie quite touching and entertaining but they did not focus on the storytelling. It has a missing sense where the story only focus on a continuous loop of the crime rather than getting to the root of why it really started in the first place.
