"03/10/09 already?! what the....?! since when October is here already?! I must be nuts~@.@" After what had happened lately, time passed as if I wasn't exist on earth...I didn't even realized it.... it's his sister, Wendy's birthday tomorrow....it's then I realized I am only 20 days away from my own birthday....and I haven't made any preparations for it yet!
Few months back, I have my birthday plan all in my head.....and it's just a matter of money and actions to get the plans happenning....Today, it's not gonna happen like what I wanted it to be.....Things changed and I don't have such amount of money to hold a huge birthday party....In the end, I cut off everything and make it simple....
The first thing was getting a venue for the event....Growball restaurant was the first place that comes into mind.....Aifer was the first person to introduce me the place and he was the one who gave me ideas of having the event done there....
It has a dance floor in the middle, with the buffet style counter at the side, the environment inside is so nice I loved it the first time I went in....with all the karaoke and slide function...the place was an instant perfect venue for my birthday! Too bad I am not rich, I can't afford a RM 2700 booking fee for the whole package...it got me dissapointed upon hearing the price....I tried to check the other places for affordable package but none came to my attention....it's all back to square one when I decided to pick Growball Restaurant after all...My mum helped to call up the event manager Ms.Chong.....and she offered me an affordable package..... Duration : 2 hours + 30 minutes Venue : half of Growball Restaurant Dinner : buffet style with a varieties of food and drink Guests : 50 paxx Slide : Available Karaoke,MCs and dance floor : not available Total Charges : RM 900It got me thinking back and forth whether to take the deal or not....2 hours of time is so not suitable for me....that was the first thing I rejected....my mum said time is running out and it's almost impossible to find another place with such offer.....so in the end, I have to cancel every plans for my birthday and made it a simple 2 hours dinner..... Deal~ I got my venue~
Next, it's time to get my guests.....I wrote a 2 pages full of names guest list...I think there were around 80 names on it.....the easiest part is to write a list of guests and invite them.....the hardest part is to get all of them to come for the event....*swt* At first, I was happy to invite all of my friends to my dinner....I am a friend-comes-first kinda person, so getting them all together for the big night is something that I like to do.....In fact, I always have crazy fun plans in the head and I liked holding gatherings for friends....it's only the money thingy that's holding me back from plans.....Anyway, most of my friends confirmed coming to my party early.....so it makes me more happy and excited, I hardly can't wait for the big day to finally arrive!Themes? Cakes? Video? It's gonna be my 21st Birthday....so I was thinking to make something special out of it.....my first intention was to hold a rubic birthday party, where every one of my guests are only allowed to wear rubic color clothes for my party....and later asked them to join in every games and activities which are being prepared....since it has been changed to a 2 hours short dinner, so I canceled the plan cuz I'm sure we won't have time for things like that..... I was thinking of pulling a dance in the middle of the party....Irene had agreed to partner-me and we were about to start practising the dance routine of Boa's "I did it for love" when plans suddenly had took a turn.... Well, maybe next time then....
"Did you invite him?" "Is he gonna come?" Seems like everyone is interesting in him more than me =.=" That is what I've been asked everytime I invite my friends.... You wanna know the answer? come to my dinner and you will know....I didn't give them an answer cuz I don't even know it myself.....depends on him though.....his younger sister, Irene wanted to come....but she herself couldn't confirm me as well since she have no idea whether her brother will be coming o not....*sigh* I knew I couldn't put so much hope on it, I shouldn't be putting any hope at all.... cuz deep down inside I know he won't show up.....
Days past and it's finally the last week before my birthday....all of a sudden, everything had turned from good to bad..... I received a lot of calls and messages from my friends, stating that they can't make it to the dinner....lot's of excuses are mentioned *lame* and in the end, I got really really pissed off.....Cuz I hate people who cannot hold unto their promises....it made me thought of all the unhappy things.....PLEASE DON'T MAKE A PROMISE IF YOU CANNOT HOLD ON IT.....I was in a really bad mood just before my birthday~ in the end, I think there were only 40+ guests who were confirmed....
Finally, 24th Oct 2009 arrived..... It's like any other usual day.....and even today I still received calls from some friends who couldn't make it last minute....*damn* I try to take things at it's pace, thinking that maybe they really have something to do last minute....I WON'T LET ANYTHING GET INTO MY WAY AND RUIN MY BIRTHDAY MOOD TODAY....so~ what to do? there were only 30+ guests left in the end....I missed my previous birthday back in 2007....that was the craziest one ever....I even accidentally ate raw flour! LOL~I loved a noisy and crazy birthday compared to a seriously formal and quiet one.....and this time it was an awkwardly quiet one.....something felt quite missing and I can't really felt the birthday atmosphere happening..... =.=|| Vivien came to my house in the afternoon and we head to Growball together....good thing she was there! cuz we hardly have enough hands to carry everything, as my brother went there earlier.....My cousin, Ben was the first one to arrive.... LOL~ it was rare to get him come for an event...and I am glad he can make it....Ms.Chong and the restaurant supervisor greet and welcomed us when they saw us.....Just then, something went wrong with my slide....it's not in a playable format.....Oh o, then my work would be put to waste....Ms.Chong rest assure me that she will help me with it....
My guests had started to arrive at 7p.m.....Primary classmate, Secondary schoolmate, Form 6 classmate, Brother and Cousins, Godsister, Heng dai ji mui, Colleagues....would like to thank them so much for coming and make my birthday delightful....We started off the buffet at 7.40p.m......I was walking here and there welcoming my guests I hadn't realized the time....The buffet menu was lavish!Let me list down the menu and you will be surprised :- Salad Bar : Fresh vegetables, Fresh fruits, Potato Salad Noodles Bar : Noodles and rice vermicelli , 6 kinds of ingredients, chicken soup Main Course : Soup of the day, Crispy Roasted Chicken, Chicken Wings, Fried noodles, Steam Rice,Fried Seasonal Vegetables, Mixed vegetables, Curry Chicken, Sweet and Sour fish, Mushroom Chicken Claw, Thai Style Chicken, Deep Fried Onion Ring, French Fries, Chicken Liver and Gizzard, Tom yam Squid, Braised bean curd Dessert : Sweet Bun (Pau) Drinks : unlimited free flow of soft drink, coffee and tea My friends were like @.@ SO MANY FOOD?! now you understand why I said that it's affordable to get everything like this for RM 900 - 50 paxx.....too bad my guests were not even 50 paxx.... =.=" but thank God almost all the food were finished....thank you all for helping me to digest every pieces and bits of it....haha~ at least my money were not put to waste.... After dinner, it's time for the cake cutting session..... My mum had ordered me a home-made "hidden treasure" cake.....nothing's really that special....it's just that the cheese were hidden inside....you have to eat until the middle part to notice it.....haha~ pretty good name huh.....
The night is almost over when three person showed up surprisingly! Eddy,Chong and Calvin~ hey thanks guys for showing up....even if you have to come last minute....I appreciate it cuz you all rush here straight after work....thanks guys! you're the best!! The food are already finished and packed by the time Calvin arrived so I only manage to gave him a big piece of cake...LOL~Too bad we didn have much time to snap a lot of crazy pictures....and not even a single moment were captured in video....well~ it's okay then....at least photos are available.....=) and all my friends loved my birthday slide~~LOL! it's a waste cuz the slide can't be upload here nor youtube cuz the length is too long....but you can see the video thru my Facebook link : http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=180088011877 After the dinner....anyone up for a second round? nah~ they all went off in their own direction....while I followed Ho and Irean to Lintas....they have a friend who is celebrating her birthday that night in Cool Bar....but her actual birthday was actually on the 25th Oct....Irean said do come along with them since my birthday dinner finished early and I wouldn't want it to end so fast....I mean....I wouldn't want to head home that fast....LOL~ just then, my phone rang : "Yang Yang" He asked me where I am and he wanted to see me..... I told him I will be heading to Lintas so we meet up at Lintas after that....At first we wanted to go have a drink in Ali Cafeteria, but then his fren called him up so he bring me tour around in his car while we chit chat a lil....It was nice to see him again, I admit I really wanted him to show up tonight in my birthday.....but I am grateful that I can at least see him tonight....I felt like having a short time chatting with him, but then I realized I have been absent from the bar for an hour when Irean texted me and asked me where I was! Gosh~ Time really flies when I am with him....either it's before or present....He sent me back at around 11.40, and handed me a bag of gifts from his sisters....I went back into Cool Bar.....sit for another 10 minutes and off Irean and Ho said they are leaving....lol~ I finally know how beer taste like tat night......When I reached home, I was too tired to open my pressies....and they were all over the floor of my room...LOL~It was the first time in the past 21 years I received so much presents....and it feels good!
The night ended and I found myself another year older...Happy 21st Birthday Grace~
