Street Dance 2

Wanted to watch this so bad ever since the trailer of it was released.
But I always cannot find the proper time.

Then comes Wednesday, MOVIE DAY.
I went to watch with Johnathan and Irene.

Nothing much to say about the movie.
The storyline has nothing new.
It's just like any ordinary dance movie.
I watched too much dance movies I can even predict what is going to happen next.
I am just there to enjoy the music and the dance. LOL.

I did not watch the first one.
So, the dance crew was fresh to me.
Unlike Step Up series, I am familiar with them and I love Step Up series alot.
But, when I google for the previous Street Dance 3D,
turns out that only George Sampson and Flawless re-appear.
The rest of the cast are all new.
So it won't affect any of the story sequence then.

The movie shows two major dance group at the beginning,
Street dancers and Latin dancers.
Boy I love Latin so much.
I was a fan of Enrique Eglesias, Shakira and Jennifer Lopez's latin songs.
I've always admire Shakira of how she can dance so perfectly.
Love her hips the most.

I love the lead actress, Sofia Boutella as Eva.
totally amazing dance skills.
I've always envy how girls can dance so flawless, even jumping around with high heels and how they can spin so fast without getting dizzy.
I seriously tried dancing around with my heels on, and gosh it's so painful and tiring.
and the spin part, seriously, I get dizzy after only 2 full circles.

After this movie, I love Latin even more.
Having a Latin dance battle in a boxing ring is something new.
I only found that fresh compared to the other scenes.

My favourite scenes of the movie has definitely got to be the scene where they practice dance in front of Paris Eiffel Tower.
Paris has always been listed as the number one destination for my honeymoon. LOL.
I want to visit Eiffel Tower, at least once in my life.
Having the chance to dance in front of Eiffel Tower is just simply romantic =)

Another favourite scene is when the crew is having pillow fight.
When all the white feathers are flying here and there, filling up the empty space.
And having them to dance + play in the middle of everything.
Simply feels like angels dancing in the heaven to me =)

The last showdown is always DA BOMB.
Having to mix Street Dance with Salsa, simply turns me on.
Love the last song and the last dance super much.
Latin is hot and sexy, and now it is much romantic and love to me as well. LOL.

This is the remix song :  Cuba 2012 DJ Rebel Remix - Latin Formation

Everything in the movie simply turns my dance mode super on.
I was trying so hard not to stand up in the middle of the movie and dance alone inside the cinema.
The music is simply amazing it actually moves my dancing cells.

Now, I seriously can't wait for Step Up 4 already.
Watched the trailer over and over again, and this time they inserted new elements into the movie.
It is going to be so awesome I might have my jaw dropped throughout the whole movie just like Step Up 3. LOL.

Check out the trailer for Street Dance 2 below if you have not watch the movie =)

不只是朋友

不只是朋友 - 橘子

Finished the second book from Ju Zi.
And I am liking Ju Zi more and more.
Her story is not like some fake fictional novel but more to real life story.
Which makes me like reading it more.

Just like the first book, there are some wordings and quotes that actually imprinted inside my mind:

Cant believe I actually finished the whole book in two days.
I read it during my part-time work at Wisma Merdeka.
I actually have nothing to do there except to sit and wait for customers.
Sitting 8 hours per day and doing nothing is a very hard job for someone who has been used to non-stop busyness.

I guessed it's because of the easy chinese wordings are being used.
And the straight forward storyline from a first person view.
makes the whole book so much easier to read.

Last day of part-time work in Korean BBQ Restaurant

21/03/12 - marks the last day I am working partime at Korean BBQ Restaurant.
Never would I expected to end so fast.
But this is the very day that I felt my pride was hurt to the max.

I usually reached the restaurant at 6pm something.
So, I usually missed out orders which were taken before I reach.
It's either the other girls helped to write it down or I would ask them directly if they've not written anything.

There's this one friend of boss.
Who is a total pervert.
He has been in the restaurant last night with another 4 more people.
But tonight, he is here alone, eating and drinking with the boss.
The thing I hate him the most was his eyes.
He tends to look at us from head to toe in a different way, right in front of us.
Then he'll say something to the boss in korean, and they both laugh together.
TOTAL PERVERTNESS.

When the boss went to the toilet,
This pervert suddenly came inside and talked loudly.
Started touching our hands and even slapped my ass.
Then he moved forward to touch Ija's waist and face.
FTW.

We all try to bear with it and just simply rejected him softly.
As we all knew, we cannot offend him in any way.
Since he is a friend of our boss.
When the boss returned, he quickily pulled him and the chef outside to his table.
After that, he came back in and said he wanted to pay for his bill.

Last night, his bill was paid by our boss.
I didn expect him to ask for the bill so soon.
As usual, the bill was empty since I arrived late just now.
I asked Ija and she pin-pointed all his orders.
When I asked him to reconfirm are all the orders correct, he said no, this and that.
Due to he cannot speak nor understand English, he blurted a lot of korean words that none of us can even understand.
Then I told him I will go ask the boss and the chef to reconfirm his orders first.

He blocked our way and shake his head and hands telling us we do not have to go ask.
I paused and I just assumed I got the orders correct.
Thinking that the boss would not really charge his friend for the full amount.
I handed the bill over to him.
After he left the money on the counter, he went out complaining to the boss.
We both cannot understand a thing because their conversations are fully in korean.

Our boss walked in and checked his bill.
Suddenly he angrily slammed the bill book and said loudly "THIS IS WHAT YOU ASKED HIM TO PAY? THAT'S WHY YOU NO GOOD."
Me and Ija stand there stunned and trying to understand what had happened.

After that, he went out with his friend, back to the table.
Not long after that, me and Ija were both summoned to the table.
The boss asked why I wrote the orders like that.
So, I explained everything from the starting where I have not arrive the restaurant, to where his friend asked us not to come out and ask.
Then, he said loudly to Ija "IJA, THIS IS WHAT HE ORDER? YOU DUNNO WHAT HE ORDER YA?"
Boss and his friend started to speak in korean again.
By their facial expression and body language, I can guessed that they were talking bad things about us.
The pervert friend even pointed this and that, doing the hand sign on the head, I think he probably mean us both are stupid.

Not only our boss is not standing up for us, he even talked loudly the whole time right on our faces.
In the end he said angrily to the both of us "HE ORDERED SOJU FOUR, DWAEJIGALBI TWO, BEER ONE, KOFCHANG TWO, WHAT IS THIS RUBBISH ON THE BILL"
Upon saying that sentence, he threw the bill book and pen towards me, I ended up going to pick it up on the floor.
The last word I heard from our boss was "DEDUCT FROM SALARY" before I walk into the counter.

I cried after the boss and his friend left.
This is the first time I felt such a humiliation and disrespect.
I guessed the boss didn't even hear what I explained earlier.
He just wanted to stand up for his friend.

Ija and the chef comforted me.
Ija felt so unfair, she said "dia mana da order kofchang, seafood bah tu, sia tau apa yang serve bagi dia, tu daging pun bukan dwaejigalbi tapi chadolbaki tu."
Although the chef could not understand us but he agreed with Ija's statement, he also pointed out the orders on the menu and said what I wrote was correct.
That's when we realized the guy must have been doing this on purpose.

Even if I did extra count him on the bill, 100% he will tell the boss that he did not order this and that.
No matter how we do it, we will always be at the wrong side.
Nonsense guy with a nonsense attitude and a nonsense order.
Can't believe the boss just stand up for his friend like that.
I've been working here for 2 weeks and I never messed up any orders.
Why can't he just try to stand at our place and look at things?

Feeling very disappointed, I took out all the restaurant money and hand it to the chef.
I told him I am not going to come anymore after today.
I even told the chef that the boss can have my salary, I am not going to take anything from him.
The girls and the chef got shocked and continued to comfort me.

They tried to change my mind and make me stay until at least the end of the month.
They said everyone will be in trouble if the captain is not around, moreover, I'm always the translator in between them + the local customers with the boss + chef.
But everytime the incident flashed back in my mind again and again,
I become firm with my decision and I apologized to them if I have offended anyone in anyway.
The chef told me he understand and will informed the boss about it.
He saw everything and knew what exactly had happened just now, he almost punch the guy in the face.
I guessed in the end he was pity and felt sad with what had happened, he fed everyone with kimchi and cola. LOL.

I'm familiar with korean drama, I knew exactly how koreans get mad and what did they looked like.
But when you are there experiencing it yourself, it's a whole different story.
I cannot even withstand the whole situation and atmosphere.
What more to say if you have the language barrier?
Only now do I really understand how hard will it be like surviving alone in a foreign country.

So many happenings in one night, sometimes things in drama does happen in real life.
Guessed I've just acted in my own drama huh?

Try to look from the bright side then.
At least, I don't have to work more than 12 hours per day and sleep only 5 hours per day anymore right?
At least, I don't have to face anymore perverts right?
No choice but to treat the free working as charity work.
It's Lent season afterall, I am just going to treat this as my penance.
Maybe I committed too much sins that this is just one of the way of doing penance.

I'm going to miss you all after this, especially the chef.
Everytime he fed me with delicious korean food, I felt as if he is my hal-abeoji (grandfather). LOL.
Wish you all good business in the coming days.

Part-time job

An SMS on the early morning of a day in March got me thinking.
Perhaps this is my chance.
After one month of the arrival of my car, I realized that my monthly spending is more than my monthly income.
That's when I decided to take a part-time job to cover my expenses.

It's an SMS from Sally, my primary school classmate.
She introduce me to a part-time job in a Korean Restaurant in Likas area.
The owner of the shop happens to be looking for partimers at night.

I went to meet the boss and he gladly accepted me in replacement for Sally.
Turns out that Sally is resigning as her mum would not want her to work part-time at night outside the shop.
I was kinda excited as I've always love korean stuff and not to mention, the food is simply 맛있는 (mas-issneun).

*mas-issneun = yummy

Likas Golf  Driving Range Korean BBQ Restaurant

So, I started to work on 05/03/12.
There, I met Ija, Ros and Salna. There is this tall guy named John too but so sad that he only worked for 2 days.

I even brought my form 6 classmate, Helmey to interview as she told me she wanted to look for a part-time job as well.
But unfortunately, the boss do not need anymore employees for the time being.

This is the menu of the shop, we only have 2 menus in the shop. Imagine what happen when all of a sudden there are customers for 4 or 5 tables at the same time. LOL.

The shop is separated into two sections.

Inside >> Non-smoking area.

Outside >> Smoking area.

If you are seated outside at the smoking area, you can clearly see the green green grass of the golf range.
With the dimmed light, the atmosphere was kinda romantic.

This is the counter where all the plates and glasses were placed at.
And also the 반찬 (ban-chan).

*ban-chan = side dish

I like the counter alot because I always eat ban-chan here. LOL.
Kimchi is S.U.P.E.R.L.O.V.E

The ever busy kitchen.

Ija is the one who always cook for our dinner everyday. LOL.

Salna and The Chef.

The Chef is very good to us.
I think he treat us all as his daughters and son.
When there's no customers, he would sit down and chat with us.
Although we cannot really understand what he was talking about. LOL.
We had to use hand signal to communicate.

But after days gone by, we actually start to get his talking.
He always talk about his life before coming to Malaysia.
and his family back in Korea.
His son who has married, not sure if he has a grandson or grandaughter though.

The boss, after the first few days,
I realized he is someone who follows the mood.
When he is in good mood, he actually treat us all good korean food plus soju.
When he is not, he will scold us and pin-pointed out on every single wrong thing we are doing.
One thing I don't like about him is he loves to drink alcohol.
He even asked all of us to sit and drink together with him.
and he tends to get inconsiderate once he drank too much.
I wondered why he never gets drunk.
One thing that I like about him is he knows how to talk and negotiate.

There was one night that we had only one table of two customers,
he actually sits with me and we had a couple glasses of beer.
He taught me how to serve the customers, how to make the customers happy, the food and the menu, what to introduce to the customers, and some details of the shops and business.
Then he started to pour out all his life stories.
His love life was a heart breaking one.
I saw tears in his eyes, I dunno was it the effect of the alcohol or was it the pain he is feeling inside.
My eyes actually tear up because I know exactly how it felt like for someone you have given all your love and everything to, betraying you at your back in return.

Some korean utensils The Chef gave us during the cleaning of the kitchen. LOL.

The boss actually had an idea to re-open the steamboat section downstairs.
We got busy for a few days, serving a whole loads of customers and rearranging our utensils plus getting ready for the shop downstairs at the same time.
I was super exhausted during the first few days.
Not mentioning that I still have to work full-time in the morning.
Having to work more than 12 hours per day, and sleeping only 5 hours per night.
I always ended up taking a nap in the office during lunch hour everyday.

This is just simply torturing myself.
Now I know how it felt like to have 2 jobs per day like those in the dramas.
How can people actually live like this.
But I had to do it for the extra income.
Luckily, it was at a place that I quite enjoy.
So I am kinda relax and enjoy what I am doing there.
Afterall, I am a korean freak. LOL.

16 April 2012

Law's little birthday surprise celebration

LOL. totally reminds me of Daniel's birthday surprise two years ago.

Picked up the cake at 7.40pm and luckily the shop's employees allow me to place the cake at their freezer.
The employees are super friendly and nice.
I even requested them to help me to light the candles and send it over to our table when we finished our dinner as a surprise.

Huge Cafe Damai.
It's my first time here, and same goes to Sarah and Caroline.

The name of the shop is seriously not a joke.
Their food actually comes in huge portion.

Me, Sarah and Caroline were actually shocked when they served the drinks first.
Our mouths were obviously "stunned til jaw drop". LOL.
It was my first time having such a big cup of milky tea, yum =)
and the best part was the price is actually same with Yoyo Cafe, totally worth to drink here.
Next time, I would definitely suggest this place for yum cha sessions.

When it was time for the surprise, I gave a little signal to the girl.
First, they switched off the fans, which already started to trigger the suspicion.
When Sarah accidentally blurted out how come they switch off the fan and everything, the four of us went silent and stunned for a while.
Then we awkwardly hurriedly continued with other chat topics to kill the awkwardness.

Things got worst when the guy sent small plates and spoons to our table without the arrival of the cake.
All of us went into instant silence looking at the plates and spoons.
This is it, we are screwed.
We looked at Law's reaction and I think he guessed what is going to happen next.

The cake only arrived after a period of time later.
The girl has to U-turn because some of the candles were blew off by the wind.
I should have told her not to light the candles as I have brought a lighter.
Things might be different by then. LOL.

Anyway, we all just have to continue with everything after that.
Doing it the traditional way - sing birthday song, make a wish, blow out the candles, cut the cake, take photos.

Here is a short video I took, pardon me for my voice is the loudest, noisiest and I actually sang the birthday song alone. LOL.
Suddenly it makes me seemed like the host and planner of the whole event.

The night ended after we finished the cake and pay for the bill.
Caroline has to leave early because she need to go to the airport to pick up Mc who is flying back from KL.
Hopefully, Law is happy and surprised with everything tonight.
Bridget told me it's the first time he had something like this.
and I could see how nervous and shy he was from the video. LOL.

15/04/12 - MSAM 2012 Sime Darby Rhino Walk

WALAOWEH~~~
It's a super freakin hot day man.

Woke up at 6am when I'm suppose to wake at 5.30am =.=
When I read Charlie's sms, I know I am late already.

Cars were lining up til St.Simon church from Stadium Likas area.
Due to lazyness of waiting and not wanting to join the traffic jam atmosphere, I decided to just park my car at St.Simon and walk to the event area.
Even Dahyeh area and the road outside the Likas basel church were all jammed and packed due to the road block.

I was kinda late and it's so sad that I was not listed in the first 5000 participants =(
I was aiming for the free tee and goodies, too bad they don't even have my size already.
I have no choice but to take the XL size.
Charlie informed me that everyone have to wear the tee for the walk. If not, at least the cap. GOSH.
No wonder it's a sea of red when I arrived just now.
If I have the choice, I wouldn't want to wear any of those. =.=

For every tee you get, they will give you a "kad lapor diri".

My tee is seriously overly super-sized.
and the design is different than the first 5000 participants' tee.

I wanted Charlie's tee =(
I liked the design with the trees at the bottom of the tee.
Certainly looked much more nicer than mine.

Me and mum =)

I tried to make my tee looked as small as I can. LOL.
Ahhh, as long as people can see the red piece of clothes on my body then it's fine.
No matter how I wear it right? LOL.

Hahaha, I seriously did not expected them to join the event together with me. LOL.
Should be the first and something new for Irene, Johnathan and Creed.

Khai came too.
and he got the same shirt as Charlie >.<

After a warming up session in front of the stage, the crowd moved to the starting point.
Seriously a huge crowd today, should be more than 5000 people were present.
Man, the weather was seriously HOT.
Our skin are already burning even before the walk started.
and I applied as many layers of sunblock as I can. LOL.

A photo of The Red Couple before the walk started. LOL.

Releasing of the balloons resembled the start of the walk.
The balloons looked like little gummy sweets from afar. I felt like chewing bubble gum all of a sudden.

We were not allowed to run throughout the whole journey.
It was meant to be a walkathon.
So the crowd were moving super slow since the very beginning.

Upon reaching the first check point at the Tanjung Lipat roundabout.

And I must say, this is the worst check point system ever.
Not only the crowd are stopping down to read at the "fact board" which was put up beside the road, everyone was pushing around just to get their check point.
WTF, they only have like 2 or 3 peoples distributing the check point card.
It was a super damn hot day and there was this huge human jam in the middle of the journey.

My hair was pulled, my shirt was pulled, I'm being pushed here and there, my cap almost drop when someone accidentally hit it, people even stepped on my feet and acted like nothing's wrong.
I almost screamed out loud, you have to be there to experience the shitty situation.
I almost fell when people around me are pushing in all kinds of direction, seriously shitness.
This kind of situation happened in City Run 2011 last year, but this year City Run improved and their check point system was super smooth. Thumbs up to DBKK.

Finally finished the whole walkathon and exchange my "kad lapor diri" with a certificate.
Didn't have the chance to get the goody bag as we were not the first 5000 participants to arrive in the morning.
Charlie and his gang managed to get it and inside the goody bag, it includes FOC vouchers to eatery outlets and also some drinks + light snacks.

Manage to snap one photo with Irene while the guys went to take their car which was parked at Dahyeh.
Look at my dark complexion, seriously hate the sun but I cant help to love outdoor activities. LOL.

What's next? should be The Sutera Harbour 7K Sunset Charity Run 2012 =)
